#NaPoWriMo Day 4: My Rivers, 4 Haiku

Running bright iron
Red River keeps storms away
From Texas in June

Silt and phosphates quick
Mississippi too thin to
Farm, too thick to drink

Falls strewn with great oaks
Potomac green, runs tidal
With power’s money

Honeymoon river
Danube sky-blue with copper
Hacks, elegant through Alps

Rocky and narrow
Devil’s Fork below the cliffs
Grandpa in the shade
